by Scott Atkinson (Japan)
Scott Atkinson was born in Canberra, in 1974. Since his earliest years, Scott has been deeply interested in the human condition and the possibility of and the quest for ways to heal ourselves and our world.
After graduating in Anthropology and Archaeology from The University of Queensland in 1996, Scott commenced almost incessant periods of travel and work abroad – frequently in remote places.
The outer path was actually secondary to what Scott was trying to come to terms with inside himself: awe at the beauty and sheer immensity of our existence. Sometimes being so seemingly alone, yet somehow able to catch a fleeting glimpse of glory.
Scott says that in all his travels, life and mode of art, "I try to be as honest and true to myself, as well as simplifying what I can."
"This quest brought me at last to Japan, where I have lived, worked and studied for over four years. I currently reside in Tokyo."
